Cowie - singer and percussionist
best known as lead singer with
folk band Seannachie with two albums
to their credit, and soloist at
various festivals and clubs. Heavily
involved with folk music promotion,
she sang in a rock band before
rediscovering her earlier musical
roots in Aberdeen where she came
under the wing of the late Lizzie

Corrina
Hewat - renowned Scottish harp
player and singer. An honours
graduate of Leeds College of Music,
she recorded her debut album with
the band Bachue
Café. In great
demand as a composer, her commission
Songs of the Redshank for the Highland
Festival in 1996 received critical
acclaim, using contemporary and
traditional styles from her folk/jazz
upbringing. Finalist in the
1995 Young Traditional Musician
of the Year and formerly of Seannachie,
she is visiting lecturer at Balnain

Christine
Kydd - much sought
after singer/songwriter and guitarist
with a wide-ranging repertoire
and a string of album, club and
festival credits in the UK and
US, both as soloist and as a
duo with Janet Russell. She
has collaborated with numerous
musicians including Alasdair
Fraser and Sileas, has supported
Christy Moore and Capercaillie,
and worked with members of Mouth
Music, Shooglenifty and the Cauld
Blast Orchestra. Artist
in residence at Aberdeen Alternative
Festival in recent years and
